OVERVIEW

If you’ve heard the term ‘business analysis’ and you’re not sure of what it means, you’re not alone!

Business analysis encompasses many functions including process design, data analysis, agile analysts,
technical analysts etc. and has quite a few definitions.

The core competencies required to perform any of these roles will be covered in this course.

The business analysis course is a 4-week instructor-led online course targeted at individuals who want to
progress their career as a business analyst. The modules will be delivered over 4 Saturdays, with assignments
provided to be completed during the week before the following week’s session.

A help-line will also be provided during specific hours through out the period of the course.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Like all of our courses, this business analysis course is designed to be practical and interactive . In the ever-changing world of technology, you never stop learning, so the intention is not for you to learn everything, but to learn enough to prepare you for a business analysis role.

  • Introduction to Business Analysis: Introduces the concept of business analysis and its importance in business and Tech. It covers the role of a business analyst, the skills required to be a successful business analyst, and the various types of business analysis.
  • Agile and Scrum Methodologies: This section covers the Agile and Scrum methodologies and their applications in business analysis. It includes topics such as user stories, sprint planning, and product backlog management.
  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis: This module covers the techniques used to elicit, document, and manage requirements. It includes topics such as stakeholder analysis, requirements workshops, use case modelling, and requirements traceability.
  • Business Process Modelling: This module covers the modelling of business processes using various notations such as BPMN, UML, and flowcharts. It also includes topics such as process analysis, process improvement, and process simulation.
  • Data Analysis: This module introduces the concept of data analysis
  • Project Management: This section covers the basics of project management, including project planning, scheduling, and monitoring. It also includes topics such as risk management, change management, and project documentation.
  • Communication Skills: This section covers the essential communication skills required for a business analyst, including active listening, effective writing, and presentation skills.
  • Career Development: This section provides tips and guidance for career development as a business analyst, including certification options, job search strategies, and networking.
